Katrien Vanherck

Katrien Vanherck studied Bioscience Engineering at the Catholic University of Leuven in Belgium, majoring in Environmental Technology. After graduating in 2006 with a master thesis conducted at agricultural research center CIMMYT in Mexico, she obtained a PhD in Bioscience Engineering at the same university. Her research on Membrane Technology involved the preparation and improvement of Solvent Resistant Nanofiltration membranes, which are suitable for filtrations in chemically harsh environments. Since 2011, Katrien has been working at PNO consultants, specializing in national and European grant schemes for innovation and sustainability.
