Forecasting technological advancements in industrial processes is a key factor for developing innovation projects and an excellent tool supporting decision makers when it comes to investments, directing research visions and carrying out innovation strategies. This is the aim and achievements of the European FORMAT Project: FOrecast and Roadmapping for Manufacturing Technologies.

Politecnico di Milano will host a two-day conference in technology forecasting in the consortium of Whirlpool Europe, Wroclaw University of Technology, PNO Consultants and Innovation Engineering and within the Industry-Academia Partnerships and Pathways (IAPP) - Marie Curie Actions.

Invited speakers from academia and industry in addition to FORMAT consortium researchers, engineers and consultants are going to present talks of technology forecasting. In addition, FORMAT team members will disseminate the latest advancement in the project and practical case-studies for forecasting industrial processes in a multinational company and SMEs.

The conference also coexists with Expo Milan 2015, which shall allow a wider audience.
